2012 is off to a great start already!

2012 is off to a great start already!

2012 has been busy already.  We started off the year with two more births in January to make babies numbers 2 and 3, and we have one more on the way later this year!.  DeAndrea and Terrance welcomed a baby boy, Christopher and Dave and Kelly welcomed a baby girl, Leighella.  We could not be happier for them all.

We received our biggest donation to date from Denise and Sascha in CA.  The donation came in the form of stock, which the foundation is set up to accept.  We sold the stock and have agreed on the plans for this donation.  We will issue three $5000 grants and will also save some money in a reserve account to start an endowment fund!  This endowment fund will help fund grants to couples who are suffering with secondary infertility.  We recognize that it is just as hard to want for a second child as it is for the first.

The month of January ended with a ’31’ Party, which is line of customizable totes, storage bins, bags, etc, to benefit the foundation and we were able to raise nearly $500.  So excited to put that to some good use.

We also have announced some upcoming events that we will be hosting.

  • During National Infertility Awareness Week, we will host a webcast on Tuesday, April 24th and Wednesday April 25th, that will have three different topics each night and registration will be open for these in mi-March.  The webcasts will be free and you can listen to one each night, all 6, or pick and choose.
  • Then on Thursday, April 26th, there will be a private shopping event at the Triangle Town Center location of Saks Fifth Avenue.  There will be an exclusive discount, free giveaways, raffles, and more!
  • The last ‘save the date’ will be Friday, September 28th.  That is when we are hosting our 4th annual gala at The Pavilions at The Angus Barn.   We again feature a silent auction, live auction, dinner, and dancing.

Keep checking the blog as grant recipients will now be posting their journey on here so you can follow along and wish them well.

Let’s keep it going!
